What a day. Just done having a coversation with police |
A little back ground, a broke up with my ex awhile ago and today she was constantly harrasing me. Calling, leaving messages, threats, hanging around the complex I stay in. One message she claimed 'I owed her money for buying me cigarettes!' I've bought her anything she wanted and didn't ask a dime in return money isn't an issue to me. Then police knock on my door while I'm in the shower getting ready to wake up in 6 hours for work. She claimed I assaulted her. :wtf: The truth is she actually acted VERY aggressively at times but I'd never dream of laying a hand on her. I played the messages for him to show how immature she was acting. Police officer said he wasn't going to write a report 2 months old(the time she claimed I did this), he suggested that if the harrasement continues I should get an order of protection out on her. He gave me the form for it so I'm not going to think twice about it. The thing that irks me the most is throughout this crazy day I had a great time this afternoon with this woman who is everything the last one isn't I enjoy her company and having conversations with. I just want to get her out of my mind as soon as possible so I can put all my attention and focus into this one. :grr:  Well I gotta wake up for work in the morning so I may just have a little snack and head for bed. :boring:

1. you're lucky you saved the messages. |
Cops tend to discriminate against men when someone claims to have been assaulted. Sounds like you got a decent cop, at least.

2. I think I read your post about this a while ago in another forum on the DU |
I would advise you to fill out that order of protection ASAP . As you have written before , this girl has nothing but issues . Too bad the only you did was care deeply for her and in the end you were hurt . Now that you have moved on and found someone new , she is trying to creep back in , don't let her . Hopefully the order of protection works for you . Good luck :)

3. It would be wise to keep a verifiable record of this and any other inciden |
so she cannot twist this around and get you into trouble. Cops and the Justice system favor women in he said/she said domestic incidents and in claims of violence and stalking. (this is understandable, because men are far more likely to be violent than women and cops have to cover their ass. If they believe a guy who ten goes out and strangles the women he has been harrassing, they are liable to be in a world of shit)

5. File the request for the order. |
You want to document her craziness. The next cops might decide to arrest you and let the court's straighten things out, and you might get an idiot DA who buys her story.
If you have the RO you can show it to the cops if ever they come to your door again and say to them, "I see she is up to her old tricks again."
