I just paid $2.59 a gallon for gas.
While I'm sure gas prices are higher elsewhere in the country, I am just plain amazed at $2.59 for regular unleaded. Someone asked here a few days ago if the price of gas was affecting anyone's lifestyle. It is ours. DH drives an hour each way to go to work, so we don't go many places on the weekends.

Has anyone else been toying with the idea of buying a locking gas cap yet? You know that's going to be next...:scared:

1. I'm glad I'm at school...
Edited on Mon Apr-11-05 06:03 PM by Reverend_Smitty
because I really haven't driven my car since December...but I get out in a month, so no doubt gas is going to bankrupt me this summer

on edit:
gas is like $2.15 and $2.40 for premium, and I'm pretty sure NJ is among the cheapest in the nation

12. Yeah, thank god--or, our Democratic governors, I'm not sure.
:silly:

But we are very low, which is good because I'm very broke.

2. The 76 at the Medina exit off 520 had it for $2.47 this morning
I think I'm going to fill up there on my way home. That's the cheapest I've seen around lately. (Although there's a Shell on Front St. & Gilman Blvd. in Issaquah is cheap sometimes too...)

Yesterday, Safeway gave me a coupon for 6 cents off per gallon at their pumps - I think the Rainier Beach store has gas pumps, as does the Overlake store... :banghead:

5. Wow, I'd be going to the 76 at Medina
I stupidly :banghead: filled up at the Shell station in Duvall this morning. Unfortunately, it would probably take the better part of a gallon of gas to get to Medina and back.

I'll be interested to see what happens in a couple of months if gas prices continue spiking the way they currently are. I'm already trying to talk DH into carpooling a couple of times per week with a co-worker that lives about two miles from us.

8. What about Safeway at Overlake?
That would at least be a bit closer, albeit congested. :(

9. I think I'll send DH there
He works in Eastgate, so that would be the logical place for him ;-).

Thanks for the suggestion, flamingyouth! In the meantime, we're hoping to get on the Prius list.

14. Hey, better gas prices than that in Seattle
If you are Costco members, they have reg unleaded for $2.35 as of yesterday, I think. Also try the Arco on 85th & Aurora, or the Interbay Arco.

6. I paid 2.30 today for regular unleaded.
My husband pays 2.50 for that damnCamaro. I never even call it a Camaro anymore. It's that damnCamaro. I want someone to buy that thing and I told him to knock thousand or two off the price just to unload it.

I digress.

I fill my tank about three times a month. At 2.30 today, it was $35 to fill, but I wasn't on E yet. My husband has to fill his about once a week at 2.50. He gets mileage reimbursement, but it doesn't add up to what he spends, of course.

My goal is to reduce my fill-ups to twice a month. That means consolidating trips, using a different grocery store that's closer to our house (same chain, just not as nice a store), and walking whenever possible. And we have to cut out our occasional Sunday drives to look at houses.

The door to my gas tank locks, but not the gas cap itself. Is that good enough?

7. $2.21 in W. Central Missouri.
I'm buying a used bicycle in a few weeks. I can't even afford to drive to visit my best friend (she lives about an hour and a half from here). Just keeps me further ostracized from most of society today.

26. Believe it or not
I just heard a teaser on the local FAUX affiliate about gas thieves.

I'll be stopping at the auto parts store on my way to work in the morning for two locking gas caps...

20. It's up to $2.89 here...
and climbing. I expect it'll be $3.02 by the time I fill the tank again later this week.

That's for premium, of course, but the rest aren't far behind.
