1. No way.
You don't look a day over 30 yourself.

2. Thanks
I was 22 when Glynn was born, so believe it or not, I'm 52 today.

6. Happy Birthday!
I'm 46-1/2. I have an eight-year-old. I started late.

I know you're proud of him.

Now, tell him to make some grandkids for you.

10. No Grandkids in the Foreseeable Future
My son is a confirmed bachelor. My daughter got a divorce two years ago (after marrying at age 20), and is in no hurry to get married again. Although she DOES seem rather serious about her boyfriend...

3. Um, yeah
<backs away>

Just kidding, you're well preserved, or else you became a dad at 14 or so.

My oldest is 25...I know the feeling. :(

4. You look like a bit of a hell-raiser. I think it's the goatee. :^) Mind
you, the touch of silver makes you look like a debonair hell-raiser. *g*

12. Thanks
I originally grew the beard in 1977, when my first wife and I separated. My daughter was only about six months old, and I wanted to make sure she recognized me. Except for a few times when I shaved it off (such as during my disasterous second marriage), I've had a beard pretty much ever since.

And I've had the moustache continuously since 1977.

7. Happy birthday fellow red head!
(from the pic your color is the same as mine) and many, many more! :toast:

No, you do not look old enough to be the father of a 30 year old!

9. I Guess I'm Just Lucky
My beard started going gray about 12 or 13 years ago, and my hair only started going gray a year or two ago. My mother had salt-and-pepper hair by the time she was 40, and my father had jet-black hair until he was around 55 - then he started going gray around the temples and it proceeded from there.

14. Was your Mom a red head?
My parents were both brunettes. Dad passed away in November. My Mom's hair just started going salt and pepper two years ago when she was 71.

15. No
Mom was mostly Irish, and had brown hair. Red hair is a recessive gene - my great-grandfather had red hair, and no one else in the family.

When my son was first born, he had reddish-blond hair, which turned all blond by the time he was one.

18. Supposedly a Great-Aunt had red hair
but I never met here, she was in Europe. My brothers' mustaches or beards come in red, but all of my siblings have brown hair.

One is natural blonde - the other has auburn hair. My son has blond hair (was red when he was a baby), and my daughter had brown hair before she went Goth and dyed it black.

8. Naw....
At least you are a guy and you get to grow "distinguished" with age. Us women... well, we just get to sag and buy Nice N Easy hair color. ;)

Happy birthday to your son. (Many more to you both!)

19. I don't have a big problem with the hair either
Except whenever I decide "screw it!" and am just going to let the gray shine, my female friends get almost hysterical about it. It's actually easier to keep it colored than to listen to them cluck about it. ;)
