Anyone using XM Radio's MyFi tuner? |
|
I'm interested in making the jump to XM satellite so I can listen to Air America Radio in the car and on the home stereo.
Any good, bad or ugly experiences?

I use it in the car most of the time. I really haven't been able to use the "Walkman" feature for live broadcasts, as the reception is lousy. You would have to wear the antenna clipped to a hat or something and I'm not that much of a geek. However, they have a feature which allows you to record like 8 hours of programming that you can then listen to on a walk with no need for an antenna. I have done that. It works great in the car too. I use their little adapter which attaches to a vent and just toss the antenna on the dash. It works perfectly, except under power lines. It easily hooks up to a home stereo too.

3. Can you "time shift" with it? |
|
In other words, pause live broadcast?
I'm not sure how useful that would be, just curious how similar it is to TiVo.

MyFi is awesome! I listen to it in the car, in the house and when out walking - I just clip the little antenna thingy on my hip next to my MyFi and I get great reception. The other cool thing is you can record more than 5 plus hours of songs or talk so when you get in a "bad reception area" such as in a building you can still listen to something. I use this feature in the gym where the concrete walls prevent a good signal. I also liked tha fact that it came with everything you need - car kit, stereo kit, clips, cover, etc. Guess for the price it should but having the ability to have satellite radio while walking is worth it to me.
