I actually ordered the joy buzzer (yay! it worked!), x-ray specs (just...SURPRISE...cheap plastic glasses with a funny pattern on the plastic lenses) and ant farm (ants arrived intact, lived about a week...what did I do wrong??). http://www.tomheroes.com/Comic%20Ads/classic%20ads/classic.htm

2. I've successfully raised Sea-Monkey colonies. |
|
My all-time record was a Sea-Monkey civilization living six months.

3. A comic book store I went to had that page, x-ray specs, etc as magnets |
|
each panel a separate one. I immediately bought one. They said they had the Charles Atlas one too, but it was out of stock.
Displaying them proudly on the fridge and everyone who sees it comments about they remember those. None of us ordered any of that stuff.

4. Those ants needed a queen |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-14-05 04:57 AM by MrScorpio
I bet that they didn't send one
A queenless ant hive has absolutley no chance for survival
Nothing to protect, no reason to preserve a hive, no replacement ants.
The sellers knew all this of course...
I bet that they had a queen for themselves.

5. we bought some of that stuff! hot pepper gum, smoke bomb |
|
stuff (viscous, oily stuff in a tube---you put a dab on your fingers, rubbed your fingers together and eventually these strange filaments would start flying off----weird, memorable smell!), those exploding cigarette loads (suprise your friends---kaboom!), and this really cool cardboard submarine that was dirt cheap, had to be assembled (took my dad and uncle about a week or so), but was like 5 feet long and you could sit in it!
I think we got some other stuff, too. Ah! Garlic gum. Teeth blackening gum. Hot toothpicks (yummy!).

8. I ordered the joy buzzer, x-ray specs and ventrillo |
|
I was apparently trying to become a vibrating, voyueristic ventriloquist when I was I kid. I forget why.
