I've decided to be more healthy |
|
:scared:
Specifically, I'm limiting myself to two coffees per day, and dropping coke totally. In place of all of the coffee, I'm drinking more green tea (which I do actually like).
I'm also going to have salad for lunch.
It will probably last for about three days at most...

at the moment I am fastening. I want to try to change my eating after I finsihed. Eating less pasta and more veggies (I eat most time vegetarian anyway). And eat less dinners with using sour cream. Let#s see how it works out.

3. I've always drunk water |
|
I dehydrate easily, and drinking lots of coffee just helps that. I have a glass sitting on my desk all day - refilled fairly frequently.

6. That's what the tea is for |
|
Psychologically, I'd feel cheated replacing coffee with water. But green tea is supposed to be very good, and is yummy as well.

10. I've given up caffeine before |
|
Did it twice during Lent, it was damn hard getting it out of the system and to be honest I didn't feel much better afterwards.
The strength that I drink green tea means that the actual amount of caffeine is tiny.

But there's nothing quite like it, a scone with a large dollop of clotted-cream and jam.

9. Respectfully, and of course, do your own research, |

I hope you'll be able to stick to staying away from Coke. The dangers of a long-term soda habit are considerable, as you may already know. I'm not a doctor, but the last time I talked to mine and diet came up I mentioned that I hadn't had even a diet Coke in years and he was all, "GOOD FOR YOU!!!!" Then proceeded to tell me even scarier info about what Coke-for-life can do to things like your kidneys than even I was aware of (I'm hella paranoid about soda products.) So, if you need some validation for that choice--Go, you. COKE is BAD. If you need any motivation to stick to the no-Coke rule--go check out the shit that Coca-Cola Inc. does to its workers. Reading about the company's history, particularly with female employees, made it impossible for me to drink that liquid evil ever again. And good luck to you.

11. Coke was always the most concerning part of my diet |
|
I'd drink a half-litre bottle with lunch (very rarely at other times).
Having done the whole 'leave an old coin overnight in coke' I realise that it isn't the best substance to pour down my throat.
My sister (who is a dental nurse) recently travelled to Kenya to do some work with AIDS widows and orphans; she was absolutely appalled by the amount of coke (and other similar drinks) that they consume; a massive world-wide marketing push representing the worst face of capitalism to be sure.
