10. Does the female form make you uncomfortable, Mr. Lebowski?
The Dude: Uh, is that what this is a picture of?

Maude Lebowski: In a sense, yes. My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina.

The Dude: Oh yeah?

Maude Lebowski: Yes, they don't like hearing it and find it difficult to say whereas without batting an eye a man will refer to his dick or his rod or his Johnson.

The Dude: Johnson?

32. Mae West --- Too numerous to include em all......
.... When I'm good I'm very good, but when I'm bad I'm better.

.... A hard man... is good to find

.... It's not the men in my life that counts -- it's the life in my men.

.... He who hesitates is last.

.... I go for two kinds of men. The kind with muscles, and the kind without.

.... So many men... so little time

.... Too much of a good thing... can be wonderful

.... Why don't you come on up and see me sometime.. when I've got nothin' on but the radio.

.... I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it.

.... A man in love is like a clipped coupon -- it's time to cash in.

.... Good sex is like good Bridge... If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand

Re-released on DVD a few months back, Pauline Collins has some great lines, a great character, not necessarily short and pithy, but...well:

About her hubby, Joe:
"I'm not sayin' he's bad, my fella. He's just no bleedin' good."

At dinner with Joe:
"It's a good job we're not having soup, or else I'd put me head in it and drown meself."

About her neighbor Gillian:
"I'm not sayin' she's a bragger, but if you've been to Paradise, she's got a season ticket. She's that type, Gillian, you know. If you've got a headache, she's got a brain tumor. "

About her friend Jane:
"Jane divorced her husband. I never knew him, it was before I met her. Apparently she came home from work unexpectedly one morning and found him in bed with the milkman. Honest to God, the milkman ! But from that day forward I've noticed she never takes milk in her tea. "

41. It wasn't what
the character played by Cameron Diaz said, as what she didn't say that was hilarious. The film was one of the funniest black comedies I've seen, and was called Head Above Water.

After inadvertently stepping on a trap door, and hearing the neck of her unconscious ex-boyfriend, played by Billy Zane, bundled beneath it, snap, she carried on chatting, as if nothing had happened!

Her current boy friend, whose beach house they were in, but who didn't know of Zane's presence, alive or dead, was a judge played by Harvey Keitel.
