How long does it take a transaction to go through your bank? |
|
I stayed at a hotel the weekend of April 2, checked out right after midnight on April 4 and the charge still hasn't shown up in my bank transactions. It's been ten days.
What gives? Have you ever had something like that take that long? Usually it's three or four days at the MOST.
It's making me nervous, LOL!

2. Tomorrow will be 11 days. |
|
I've never seen anything take this long, EXCEPT checks you give to a kid to buy their fund raising crap, because they hold onto the checks for freaking ever. That I can understand.
But a major hotel chain? Should have taken just a couple of days.

3. HAve no fear. Your transaction |
|
will undoubtedly be on your next statement. I never pay attention if it's a credit charge until I get the bill.

5. It isn't the bank, it's the hotel. |
|
They have not put the charge through. A lot of times they keep them in the till, and then run the charges through all at once. It is getting rarer for it to be done this way, but it still happens. If you don't see something by the end of the month, call your bank. If the bank doesn't know anything, you COULD call the hotel (and be honest) or, um, NOT call the hotel cuz who needs to remind them that they forgot to bill you?

A bank employee
