The ONE Scene From A Movie That You JUST Cannot Watch!
i'm talking cover your eyes, walk out of the room can NOT watch no matter HOW many times you see the movie.

for me its Reservoir Dogs (scene right after he cuts the cop's ear off with the razor. when he is dancing and pours the gasoline over him)

i LOVE that movie but leave the room and have a smoke during that scene (ironic i know).

don't bother pausing it for me. i'm all set thanks.

you?

7. the end of "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane"

(spoiler)

Martin Sheen's character is dying just off-camera. Jodie Foster's character, who slipped him the poison, is sitting there watching him. At the time she was just a kid -- and even though Sheen's character is a nasty piece of work, it's very disturbing to watch. I couldn't bear to look at her face, because I was frightened what kind of emotion she'd be showing. Remorseful or gleeful, either would be bad ...

Edited on Mon Apr-18-05 03:26 PM by deutsey
an underground shelter where a Vietnamese mother is hiding with her children.

Pretty easy-to-stomach compared to the other scenes in that movie, but there's something about the way the mother and children look up at the soldier (I think they're even smiling) before he tosses the grenade in and shuts the door on them that just breaks my heart.

Since becoming a parent I can't stomach scenes like that, I guess.

...and I am not a fan of the horror genre. But there is a scene in a comedy that made me gag, and when the film comes on and people are watching it, I leave the room....it is the AMERICAN WEDDING film, where that punk eats the dogshit after chasing the dogs about all day to retrieve the ring. First time I saw it, it was funny-sickening, but once was more than enough!

45. Yep. THAT scene in Reservior Dogs left me changed.
I can't here that Steeler's Wheel song and NOT think about that scene. There's something about this guy dancing away happily and carving off body parts that just left me feeling different for having seen it.

I was left with a similar feeling after I saw Blue Velvet.

I realize it sounds strange, but those are some pretty good film makers to leave you afterward with a residual feeling--even if it is an icky one. They WANTED to impact on you and they did it.

Wow.

53. Any nature show that shows the prey being attacked ..
I have to switch the station when the lion jumps on the gnu or the bear snatches the baby mountain goat or the eagle chows down on the house finch. Just can't watch it. But very few scenes of humans being dismembered/killed/eating/puking ever bother me because I know it is all fake. The one kind of show that sometimes gets me are the surgery shows - facial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, and the grossest of all - C-Sections - don't care much for that stuff, either.

When hubby gets scalped. Eww. Saw it in the theatre, I had been warned, but I forgot to tell Mrs. Ironflange. Even worse, I admitted it later, and boy was she pissed.

64. Three: Schindler's List, Band of Brothers, Thin Red Line
Three...

Schindler's List. The scene in which the women are marched into the shower-room at one of the camps and they *know* what's going to come out of the shower heads (and it ain't water). Then the spigots open and water actually doesn come out. For some reason, that scene, moreso than any other in the film, depresses the living sh*t out of me. (Any shrink wanna-be's gonna tell me a my Freudian Slip is showing?). I've stopped watching that particular scene.

Band of Brothers. Lutz is running to a foxhole during a maddengly intense shelling during the Bastogne seige. His pal's, Muck and Pencalla are yelling for him to get to their foxhole. "Run, Lutz...hurry the f*ck up! Faster... FASTER, Lutz! RUN!" and Bingo... Muck and Pencalla get blown up just as Lutz arrives.

The Thin Red Line. A scene where the Americans over-run the Japanese base-camp near the end of the second act. Most of the G.I.s are in a blood-lust and are doing... things. Bad things. This is contrasted against a few cut scenes of almost civil behavior, e.g., a Japanese soldier peacefully on his knees praying, or an American soldier watching and crying.

O-kay. These are all quote-unquote War Movies. But they're a new generation of war movies that washed the John-Wayne-Gung-Ho crap out of my system for good.

I did see three episodes of a series called Faces of Death about 20 years ago (suicides, murders, accidental deaths, etc. caught on video). What was odd was that I felt little or no emoption re: the people, but when they showed animals getting killed, I nearly lost it in front of all my pals and my girlfriend. Used the "bad beer" excuse and hid in the bathroom for the next hour, crying.

71. Kid in Pet Cemetery movie
When the father has to kill his zombie-kid was one of the most saddest and disturbing scenes ever.

Even though I'm not a Steven King fan, when you add demonic cats and Herman Munster getting his hamstring severed by the zombie kid, the whole movie was pretty disturbing.

A close second was the Cat People remake when the dude gets his arm pulled off by a puma. Though the scenes of Natasha Kinski running though the woods sans clothes make my memories of it bittersweet when I first saw it during my teens.:P

117. No before they started making him into robocop.
They stuck a needle into my chest and it was a foot long. and they sliced in some of the same places they did on him. I have a scissor mark where they snipped the skin just to get at a vein. they pinched the skin and took out a good half inch size hole to run a needle into my vein. Those images brought back some bad memories.

106. Almost forgot this one: Irréversible
The first half hour is really hard to watch for a few reasons, the constant camera motion, and the fact that, according to IMDb, "The first 30 minutes of the film has a background noise with a frequency of 28Hz (low frequency, almost inaudible), similar to the noise produced by an earthquake. In humans, it causes nausea, sickness and vertigo. It was the main cause of people walking out of the theaters during the first part of the film in places like Cannes and San Sebastian. In fact, it was added with the purpose of getting this reaction."

But the one scene that really makes me cringe is the scene where this one dude gets his skull bashed in with a fire extinguisher.
