How can this green tea smell so good but taste so bad?

Do you drink green tea? Any recommendations?

I liked my orange passionfruit and jasmine green tea from lipton well enough. At first I thought it tasted mediciney but I got used to it. Compared to this stuff it was downright tasty.

Yeah, it's not the best tasting stuff. But it is calming...and there are health benefits associated with green tea. Overall, it's worth it. :-)

For instance, I'm drinking some Arizona Mandarin Orange green tea (with ginseng and honey jasmine). It's quite good.

I can't speak for the possible curative benefits of green tea and PMS, though. :-)

The pre-made Arizona stuff... it's good... I've tried it... but there's something soothing about the ritual of brewing the tea... and sipping it hot. I think I prefer it that way. :)

I generally don't like Bigelow teas. As for green tea, Trader Joe's has its own jasmine green tea. It really is good and costs less than Stash or similar brands.

It sounds like you're not familiar with the store and I didn't check where you are. Other brands that are good: Tazo, Stash (better than Bigelow but not as good as the others I mentioned.)
I love all tea, black, green, and herbal. I just love hot drinks, somehow they make me feel nurtured.

They usually have loose-leaf green tea, and that is the best stuff.

Another recommendation: red tea (Rooibos) from South Africa. Great stuff, but not related to the plant that produces conventional tea. No caffeine, but lots of antioxidants. But I drink it for the taste ~ it's slightly sweet on its own, so you don't have to add sweetener, and it doesn't get bitter if you let it sit for a moment while you're reading. Getting kinda popular in Japan, I'm told.

loose green tea but unable to get to the stores that sell it. After trying several brands, I've decided the best is Salada Green with antioxidants, makes excellent ice tea too? A treat for me is to go to Einstein's and have their green ice tea special drink.

49. White tea's very delicate

at least, the kinds I've tried are...regular, something fancy and expensive (I forget the variety) and a peony flavor. The peony kind of tasted like dirt or spinach, but it grows on you after a while. Generally, IMO, they have a nice flavor, with a gentler sting than most green teas.

I'm lucky enough to have lots of shops near me that sell loose-leaf teas - you might want to try an independent coffee shop or something, if you've got one near you. As far as green teas go, gunpowder is really excellent (although on the expensive side) - the leaves are all rolled up to preserve the flavor, and it's got a very nice, really delicate flavor. I also like lapsang souchong, even though it's a black tea; it's really dark and rich, smells like beef jerky and tastes leathery and smoky, like good cigars. Definitely a weird experience.

I love yerba mate, and I like to chop fresh mint and brew them together. It makes a great combination - you should try it sometime, if you get around to it. On ice, it's really refreshing in the summer. :hi:

Make sure you wait about 5 minutes, after you pour the boling water into your cup, BEFORE putting the tea in. Then, time it precisely at 4 minutes or 5 minutes max. Then take it out, WITHOUT squeezing the bag. It should taste good. If you get it wrong it can get awfully bitter....
I use Tiazo, or some high-quality brands for treats...

I drink it plain, too, but only with Japanese breakfasts. :-)

The Republic of Tea makes a good green tea. I get the decaffeinated kind, since I'm sensitive to caffeine in the evening, which is when I most like to drink teas of all kinds.

My other favorite is Stash Decaffeinated Chai Spice with hot milk and honey.
