So, I finally got a puppy
It took almost 11 years. My wife finally decided it was a good tine for a dog. Truth be told, I wanted a Boxer. But I have two daughters, 8 and 5 and since my wife would likely be responsible for taking care of the little guy, she decided the breed. After much research, she decided upon a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I wasn't all that thrilled, but hey, at least it's a dog. Here's "Jake":

He's a cute little guy, and he's asleep on my lap as I type.

2. Cav's are nice dogs
But still a spaniel so they need exercise, grooming and don't overfeed :)

Pup looks a bit tired - - I bet your kids were THRILLED!

6. It's a puppy fest
He runs around like a maniac for about 15 minutes, then he sleeps for 2 hours. He loves to sleep on someone. Anyone. The kids fight to get him to lay on them. Pretty cool.

7. Awww..he's a cutie!
As spaniels go, the Cavaliers are really nice dogs. I understand though; I'm a "big dog" person myself, and it would be hard for me to settle for a smaller breed. Still, the little guy will probably grow on you! :-)

11. He's pretty mellow
He has his crazy puppy moments, but by and large he's pretty cool. I have a fenced yard, which is a must, because they like to roam. He's not at all yippy, and very affectionate.

16. little mutt, part Chihuahua....
pomeranian, and terrier. She has real personality and does the 15 minute tear around/two hour sleep thing also. I had a 129lb lab for 13 years and just loved him. I was hesitant about a small dog at first, but there are a lot of advantages (especially when I clean up the inevitable puppy accidents). This one loves my cats, in fact she acts like them most of the time. Here she is with the big male cat.

He is always cleaning her.

25. Senator Spike is my first Boxer.
I lost my 12 yr old lab in January and then this little guy found me.

The Milkbones people were in KC last week for a contest to find the new cover of their box and I took him down to the park, but I think I missed the promotion (I was running late from work.) I still think I'll enter him online.
