Woohoo! The property assessor was just here. |
|
I just love it when they stop by to try to reassess the value of my property. In person. :scared:

1. Look up into the sky and see if there is a wallmart |
|
hovering over your house. Either that, or your gonna get a tax hike. I'm sorry, that really sucks. :-(

But he'll be back, same time next year. Just after tax season.
Next year, I'll get a tax hike. Guess I better start saving for the 2006 tax bill.

3. a bunch of towns around here just got surprise re-assesments |
|
my sisters property taxes went up 15% without any notification. seems the town sent assessors around on walking tours and raised most everyone's taxes based on that.
led to much screaming and emergency meetings. looks like they're screwed though.

Around here, there is a law that says they cannot increase your property taxes more than 3% (maybe it's 3.5%?) per year.
Unless you take out a permit and do some work. Then they can nail you.

4. If you pay them off they will assess your property at a higher price. |
|
Just pointing out the obvious.
