2. Saw it in theater a month ago

Magnificent film always worth the time.

It's actually the second time I saw it in a theater. Saw it about 10-15 years ago too.

If there has ever been a greater debut performance than O'Toole's I am not aware of it.

And the absolute beautiful symetrical genius of the motorcycle seen at the beginning and in the final scene.

Absoulutely brilliant filmmaking.

7. Special engagment this time

Our local art museum does a big deal every year leading up to Oscars. They show as many of the nominated shorts as they can get and the foreign nominees.

This year they got a print of Lawrence so we had to go.

The first time I saw it in theater was back in the late 80s when it did tour as they had done a restoration.

What kind of beer did you have? A nice India pale ale would be lovely.

I don't know how many times I've watched "Lawrence" over the years, dozens of times, I'm sure; that sequence with the sun coming up over the dunes (with Maurice Jarre's stunning theme music) puts my heart in my throat, to this day.......
