Stupid Friend Tricks --- They have always made me seem saner.

For some reason tonight I remembered a couple incidents involving two friends. The first, a male, he was from my hometown and we were in college together. He was rooming with another friend on the other side of campus and one night a friend and myself stopped by to see them. Mike was out at the time, but, we thought we would wait a bit to see if he would return early. We were inquisitive because earlier that day in the student union he had informed all of us that he had a date with a sorority girl, Sigma I think, don’t hold me to it that was long time ago. We had been there for only a short time when he bounds through the door. He was looking goood. He had on a really nice top-coat, which he had borrowed and with the red tie looked really slick. We course stated the interrogation, how did it go, where did it go, etc. To which he replied, it “had really been hot. “ “Ah, so it she was all you had hoped for,” we inquired. “No” he said, “ I mean it was damned hot. Because I could take off this overcoat all night.” He went on to explain and to show-and -tell, it seems that getting his only dress shirt ready had turned into a little disaster when he had burned a large iron shaped hole in the back of the shirt. He demonstrated the truth of the story by taking the overcoat off and turned his back to us to displaying said burned hole . He went on to give the play by play of the night which dealt mostly the high temperature of every location of the date. You had to be there, it was funny.

The second friend, a female, once scotch-taped thigh high hose on because they would not stay up. The engineering marvel did not quite pan out when one of the stockings gave way and sagged down around her knees during the presentation she was making.

Like I said, with friends like these I sleep well at night knowing no matter how much insanity I engage in, I can never top them.

1. Well, I suppose if he had taken the shirt off quickly enough
and got things moving well enough, she would never have noticed the scorch mark. A very funny story.

2. A story just came back to me!
Years ago a friend had been drinking quite a lot with some other people. So he decided to demonstrate something and jumped off a second-story balcony -- onto a concrete patio below. Fortunately, he didn't break any bones.
