Entire Chicago area (six counties, not including Indiana!), including suburbs/exurbs: Chicagoland
Within Chicago city limits:
Downtown=The Loop Gold Coast/Magnificent Mile--Along Lake Michigan just north of the Loop, where rich people live in condos Near North Side North Side South Side West Side
There are so many suburbs that I don't have nicknames for all of them. Perhaps another Chicagoan with more patience will fill in the blanks I leave...

8. A friend from L.A. calls Chula Vista "Chulajuana". |
|
Close to Tijuana. Chula Vista in S.D. is mostly Mexican-American.

7. Wicker Park = Liquor Park |
|
I can't think of any others off the top of my head, though. And really I've only heard my brother use Liquor Park.

9. There are LOTS of nicknames for my little town by the sea! |
|
On the beach it's the Sand section, and going inland away from the beach, we have the hill section, the tree section, North end, and east of Pacific Coast Hwy (the old boundary of Hwy 1, the King's Hwy, or El Camino Real back in the Spanish days) we have the dreaded Flat-lands, where no-one lives! We are so faaar from the beach that we hardly count...lol...Only the old-timers remember this name; and that's where me and my husband live! We love it here, in our little town...
