1. How did the school board meeting go?
Did I miss the update?

2. No you didn't. I haven't posted an update yet. I was well received...by
the teachers. The especially liked the part where I mentioned that I lived next door to a teacher. The school board is contending that the average teacher makes $25,000 more than the average parent. I mentioned the fact that while living next door to the teacher (who is the awesomest neighbor you could ask for) I was unable to discern a difference in our way of life.

Heidi, you would not believe how these people (the school board and superintendant) were unable to look any of us in the eye as we spoke. They answered no questions and basically doodled in their notepads.

Actual quote from the superintendant during his exciting (yawn) PowerPoint presentation...."Right now we face an economic downturn...with a slight upturn." I shouted out, "What does that mean exactly?" and he looked at me and responded, brilliantly, "huh?"

Sheesh. :hi:

3. I'd believe it.
My mom was a teacher for 35 years. Sorry to disagree with your school board, but though I've met some poor teachers in terms of quality, I've never met an overpaid one, considering all the parenting they have to do these days.
