Constantine is kicked off in favor of the Clay Aiken wannabe and the fat telephone-thrower.
My girlfriend is NOT happy, as, I'd imagine, are most women in America right now.

1. It seems like the talented leave and the others stay on |
|
I personally think that overall Nikko, Constantine, Nadia, Jessica, and Anwar are more talented than Scott (how the hell is he still on?), Anthony, Bo, Carrie, and Vonzell.
None of this makes any sense.

I've been missing from DU because of my Constantine obsession! This is my first time here in weeks. I voted my fingers off last night. I'll miss him for now. But I'm sure he'll be back bigger and better than ever. And he won't have to put up with petty put downs from Randy and Simon.

4. God that guy was the biggest poseur ever.... |
|
He wasn't even a convincing "rock guy". He had a wretched voice and preened like a Vegas lounge singer. Which is fine, if you're not presenting yourself as and constantly referring to yourself as "rock guy". That other long haired dude seems like more the genuine article, even if the notion of a rock person on that show is laughable.

But at least that Bo dude has a somewhat soulful tone and stays in key. Honestly that Constantine guy has been off key and horrible every single week with the possible exception of when he did Bohemian Rhapsody. Every other effort has been completely cringe inducing.

|
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 12:14 AM by Seabiscuit
He has the worst voice in three years of American Idol (except one - he's better than last year's winner, Fantasia, who always sounds like Donald Duck on helium).
Sorry to have to say it, but I was cursed with perfect pitch. The only singer left who consistently gets the notes right (with a rare exception here or there) and with consistently good transitions between the notes, like it or not, is Scott.
Bo shouts half of the notes, because he can't sing worth shit, so already he's completely off key before he even attempts to sing a note.

I've got perfect pitch also and I keep (trying) to tell folks that Bo couldn't carry a tune in a new 1500 horsepower Tractor-Trailer. He typifies the performer with "All show and no Go"

I gave him 50 votes last week and another 50 votes this week.
Especially after Simon very rudly told Scott, after his performance last night: "Time to pack your bags". Period. Thud.
A lot of us out there are sick of Simon and others picking on Scott due to his appearance. He's a wonderful guy and in my not so humble opinion, has by far the best voice in the entire Idol crowd this year.

She was big on Connie too--for a while--but thinks that it got to his head and his posturing to the camera finally began to turn people off. I don't know, maybe. As for Scott, she was sure (as was I) that he was a goner, but he was in the top three!! and our feeling is that he represents "every man"--not talented, not good looking, ect. That or else the entire city of Cleveland is voting for him.

I actually liked Constantine. I didn't think he was going to be the next American Idol, but I definitely think he's better than Scott Savol and Anthony Federov. I thought last night's performance was weak, but almost everybody last night was weak (except for Bo).
Federov probably appeals to the people out there who miss Michael Bolton and think that 80's junior high slow dance songs were underrated.
Scott Savol on the other hand...who the f*** is voting for that guy????

That ugly jagoff Scott definitely should have been kicked off (weeks ago even). The Clay wannabe would have been second best.
Constantine did choose a bad song for his voice (he sings great, but didn't do well with that song last night). However he did not deserve to go and have those other two skanks stay.

Both of them put in some of their worst performances last night (because every time they go back to their "rocker" styles they stink up the joint) but Bo was a lot worse even than Constantine, and for the second week in a row (actually, Constantine is constistently better). Bo's a very nice guy, but I think he realizes Constantine's the better singer.
The problem is the judges, not one of whom has any musical taste or knowledge or sensibility whatsoever, keep mooning over Bo, and so does the entire Fox network. He'll probably win it, because they give him the most publicity. The Fox, I mean, Fix is in.
But don't knock our little blond Ukrainian friend Anthony, and especially don't knock Scott (the heavy guy). They can both sing circles around either Bo or Constantine. Scott especially I could listen to easily in the car. He has the best pure voice of the whole bunch. He deserves to win it all on talent alone - but of course he won't, because the judges comment more about their bizarro notions of appearance and "stage presence" (whatever the fuck they think that is from one week to the next) than about anything having to do with musical performance, and face it, Scott's no "pretty boy".

Barry Manilow???? WTF??? Manilow wrote some good music, but I wouldn't say he's "my kind of singer", thank you very much.
At least Federov can carry a tune. That's better than one can say about the vast majority of contestants on American Idol every year it's been on.
Bo hasn't hit a correct note yet. He's always out of tune, and shouts most of his "notes". I wouldn't call what he produces "music". It's just a lot of theatrics and noise.

61. bo is a ROCK singer...not a crooner....... |
|
and there is a difference.....bo is my bet...scott will be off in two weeks...mark my words...anthony will be the next to go...i have been following this since day 1, i have made the call right each week with the exception of anwar....man who'da thunk that???....it'll be carrie or bo...thats my call.
i was tired of constsntine posing for the camera at every turn....:puke: ....good ridance...he has been bad for 3 weeks running. bo knows where his bread is buttered, and he's picking the songs that highlight an otherwise less superior voice....scott and anthony can sing circles around him, but they are crooners. i mean, would you like hearing, say, scott weiland singing a luther vandros number? he was more a rocker than constantine anyhow.....besides that, constantine lied to his band about AI from the very start....that speaks volumes about him.....
bo is a good ROCK singer, and people are tuning into him...like it or not...and yes his stage presence has a lot to do with this. he carries himself better than any of the other singers. he seems very down to earth to me as well...perhaps this is a reason to.

I believe Randy was part of the Journey phenom...and he sees Bo as his next gravy train....
Bo to win, with the blond girl (don't remeber her name) to come in second, since she is the one Simon wants to win.
My personal call only, no facts to back my very opinionated statement up. :)

|
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 06:17 PM by Seabiscuit
Bo's not a rock singer. Not even close. Rock has gone down the toilet in the past 10 years.
It's easy to predict Carrie and Bo - they're Fox networks' favorites and destined to win. For reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with music. Carrie, for instance, is a fundie bible thumper who tells stories of her dad's rifle and already sang a freepin' superpatriot song on that show. If she put her hair in pigtails she might resemble Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz. Meanwhile she wears it in that creepy 1970's Staten Island exaggerated mess, and is too dumb to realize that style was localized and went out of fashion even on Staten Island 30 years ago, and she's not even from Staten Island. If you've seen the movie "Working Girl" you know the hairdo I'm referring to.

You're kidding, right? He was painfully off key on "She's Gone". Argh. That did it for me.
Anthony is hanging in there because all the damn Ruskies and damn Philadelphians are voting for him. And all the Ruskie Philadelphians. My SO did a film for a Russian professor at Penn, and she emailed him (and every other person she knows) to tell him to "vote for Anthony". It's a big conspiracy. ;-)

I don't think so, Tim.
Fox determined the outcome a long time ago. Another instance of Fox betraying its audience and never being able to get anything right.
The Fox scoreboard:
Bo in first
Carrie in second
The rest: has-beens.

|
People are voting for him to piss off everyone else.
Don't think Federoff is Clay Aitkin wannabe. And he's got a great back story, came from another country, couldn't talk, had to have a trachiotomy, survived Simon's vicious comments, lost the glasses, Heather Locklear's daughter loves him. Think he's very big with the 4 to 9 year olds.
Probably will come to down to Bo and Carrie, I like Bo.

He picked a shit song and performed it horribly. It was awful. It's supposed to be a singing competition and he didn't sing that song for crap. BTW, I liked everything he did up until that point. What I don't get is why Vonzell is in the bottom three every week and why Federov wasn't voted off the show weeks ago. I also take issue with the whole AI is fixed thing. If that was the case, Josh Grayson would have won it when he was on.

Bo and Constantine appeal to the same group of voters. When Bo was in the bottom three it was after a bad performance on his part and a good performance on Constantine's part. With Constantine gone, Bo will be a top contender.

But I DID like Constantine and thought he'd have fared much better if he'd just realized that he DOES NOT have a rock voice. The best performance he gave was the night he did My Funny Valentine... THAT brought out his true talent. I didn't see the performances the night before, but if his performance of that horrid Nickelback song last night was a carbon copy of the night before, I can sorta see why he didn't get the votes this time.
