Sooooooooooooo My Home Phone Just Rang (here we go)

and i notice the caller id says "Unknown"

now, i usually don't pick up but since we are unlisted, figured i'd have some fun

anyhoo.....

Matcom: "Hello?"
Phone: nothing
Matcom: "Hello?"
Phone: nothing
Phone: computer clicking through sound
Matcom: hang up

now, Matcom knows what's up (i'm learnt like that) so he stares at phone...... 5 seconds later.......

phone rings (unknown caller)

Matcom: "Hello?"
Phone: "May I please speak with Mr. Matcom (pronounced 'Matecombe' <insert my real name here> because they KNOW me sooooooooooooooo well) :eyes:
Matcom: "Did your computer just call me?"
Phone: "Sir, this is..."
Matcom: "I don't want to know WHO you are! Did YOU JUST CALL ME VIA YOUR AUTOMATED COMPUTER SYSTEM?"
Phone: "Yes sir, we are looking..."
Matcom: "If I am a current customer of yours, close my account. Don't tell me who the hell you are, just close the FUCKING THING. If I am not, can you guess what I am about to do? *Click*

I hate hate hate them too., And even if you hang up, you can pick the phone up, and they are still going until THEIR message is done.. i was reaching for the phone one day to make an important call, and it rang.. It was Gottschalk's department store telling me that if I shopped on such and such a day, I would get no sales tax.. I [icked up the phone THREE times, before they "released" my line back to me :grr:

the other day I forgot to check the caller ID and answerred. They explained that I had been preaproved for a credit card. I said I don't need another credit card. They said I understand your reluctance, but... I cut them off saying 'Oh, its not reluctance, the answer is no' and hung up.

24. Calls I got last month said "Minnesota Call'

and I live in Wisconsin. The first two calls the person did not respond to my answering it, but the third time phone rang with the same caller ID, somebody was finally there.

To my surprise it was the WISCONSIN DEMOCRATIC PARTY looking for donations! - I then had some problems with the girl being pushy so I contacted the state party and complained - first for using a Minnesota firm to make calls to WI Dems, but then for their pushiness - I told them they were acting like repukes, not listening but staying "on message".
