:hi: it was nice to meet you too.

I already have that link.

I'm going to be traveling to other meet-ups so I need to see a listing of where they are going to be in the north-east ?

5. the weather is great for visiting new places
Every community looks different. I've driven up and down the east coast all of my life ~ now I want to see something new ! I can't think of any better reason to travel this summer. Going to meet-ups and getting to know other members of DU will make the cold dark days of winter so much easier for me.

I want to hear what people outside of my circle of friends and family have to say.

7. sounds líke a great idea and a lot of fun
and since you enjoy riding your trike so much ... no better excuse than that to hit the road :)

10. I think I'll keep the trike within 300 miles of home for now.
... but I love my truck too. The big rig drivers get a kick out of my driving.

Traffic was so bad on I-95 south on Tuesday. It was stop and go in several areas. I always watch for turn signals and slight drifts into my lane. If one of the truckers wants to do a lane change - I'll give them room to pull over in front of me. After miles of driving like this the truckers must have said to one another by CB "Freebird is out here again" {because I do have a personalized license plate on my truck and my trike} and driving becomes more fun when you share the road sanely.

14. Fortunately the part of the I-95 I took all the time
between Savannah and Charlotte (ok, I took the I-26 and the I-77 also) was mostly sane driving. Except the old ladies from Florida driving 50 in the left lane .... ARGH

16. Hey now - don't you go pickin on little old ladies
I know you never would. We have all seen drivers who shouldn't be driving anymore. 50 in the left lane is just plain wrong for so many reasons :scared::hide:

I saw a blurb on TV about a car that's got a built in sensor to slow the cars approach when it is getting too close to another car. ***snap*** someone's been reading my mind again *** smart cars***

17. I am only picking on old ladies from Florida
and as far as I know you aren't

My aunt is driving a Mercedes at the moment that shows how close she is getting with her car to other ones or a wall when she is parking or passing by. Don't know if that works on the highway also. But why shouldn't it?

19. they do seem to congregate there
Nope - I'm no where near the gray haired old lady stage --- ahem -- you did see my picture on Revolutionary_Acts04's thread from Boston didn't you !?!

The roadways can become user friendly again. It just takes getting over the "it's all about me" attitude.

There is a new bus that is being tried out up in Albany that is hydro-powered. :woohoo: I'm so excited about not using fossil fuel!

20. no, you ain't even close to that stage
you should be lucky not to drive on German higways. The speed is a lot higher and there are a lot of nutcases on the road. I hope my trip today won't take too long. I hope there are not too many working zones with traffic jams on my route. I know of one at least though. That is why I want to leave work early today, so I get a head start and I want to be at my mom's latest at 7pm (when dinner is served).

24. Today my attitude is "yield to the bigger truck"
because ~ I am the bigger truck when I'm not on 3 wheels.

I learned to drive in NYC while driving a Land Rover. Ain't no thang !

8. Thank You ~ Kenneth ken
I knew it was there ~ somewhere and I did need the help! :hi: I really do have to ask people to tell me where to go these days. Funny ~ how things change. People used to tell me where to go and how to get there all of the time.

I was having a senior moment.

hmmm ... maybe I should visit the home page more often.

15. You're welcome, my friend.
My little guy had a rough day, yesterday, tummy problems. It's always something, with my guys. But everybody's finally okay, I hope, so next week hope to get them to the groomer, finally! It's been too long and they itch! How are your lovely girls?:hi:

18. All of my feathered and furry friends are well.
Frodie was so happy to see me when I got back from Boston. Birds can be tricky to leave with friends or if you board them. Often the bird will be too beaky after a separation from their owner. I've been very lucky with Frodo. I have a bird behaviorist to give me pointers toward having a well adjusted parrot.

I don't know if I ever mentioned that Frodie and I've been together since she was 13 weeks old.

One learns to read body language rather quickly while handling birds! Or you bleed a lot!

I'm truly happy to hear that all of their health problems are on hold or improving so you can enjoy the spring together

23. Thanks for your best wishes. I just hope that the good health holds
so I can finally get them groomed. My poor Sara had surgery and my little guy had a head cold that moved into his lungs, so I was scared for both. I'm hoping that the improved weather will be good for all of us!:-)

And I understand about boarding animals. I have never left my little one. I just can't, since he won't let me! And who else would he trust, since this breed are one person dogs? He loved my cocker, Sheena, and was fine with her, but I lost her two years ago, next month, and he has not been the same dog, since.;(

I love birds, but know nothing, so have never had one. Plus, I've had cats, and don't think they're a very good mix, LOL! But maybe someday. Don't forget about my Bird Dr. That's her license plate, LOL!:hi:
