A question to those of you in Memphis. |
|
I am taking my son (steve nash is god 13) to Memphis this weekend to see the Suns/Grizzlies playoff game. Does anyone happen to know if athletes stay in a certain hotel there? He is just dying to get a picture/autograph. I was thinking the Peabody because it's the most $$$, but I am not sure. If any of you in Memphis have any input, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks :hi:

But visit the Rum Boogie Cafe for some live music and good food. I sure could go for their chicken BBQ sammich and a bowl of gumbo right now....

When's "Memphis in May"? Does the Barbecue contest have a 'people's choice award"? What's it cost?
Have fun at the game

I have only been to Memphis one other time years ago. We are going specifically for the basketball game.

It's going to be crowded though. I think the Beale Street Music Festival is this weekend as well.
Have a fun time here and sample some of the BBQ.

is usually mid May or toward the end of May. The music fest is this weekend. Drop into the rendevous for some fantastic bbq ribs. It's right across Union from the Peabody on 2nd (little alley way actually). Make reservations first though.

From what I have heard most of the NBA players stay at The Madison Hotel - swanky boutique hotel!! It is downtown at the corner of Madison and the trolley line.

and we've gone down on two seperate occasions to see the Cardinals play the Redbirds (AAA affiliate), and yes, the Cardinals did stay at the Peabody. Can't answer for the NBA, but Pujols, Edmonds, etc. were all at the Peabody. :)
