It's a documentary by Doug Wolens about the 8th Annual Cannabis Cup festival and competition in Amsterdam. Filmed in 1996.
I have never used marijuana or hashish, and don't intend to unless I have a medical condition that requires it. But I find the culture that has grown up around cannabis fairly interesting - given a "safe zone" such as Amsterdam where cannabis, if not entirely legal, is at least tolerated by the authorities.
At least one of the hash bars (Grey Area) is operated by an American expatriate. That bar contributed the "AK-47" blend to the competition - the same blend that Dave Attell sampled on his Insomniac series on Comedy Central.
Anyone else see this documentary? What are you thoughts?
On Edit: Grey Area submitted their Bubblegum blend in the 1996 Cup, not the AK-47 blend. My bad.
