Those church folks are at it again! Virgin Mary spotted in a tree stump!
Tree Stump Virgin Mary Draws Faithful
Thu Oct 23,10:15 AM ET Add Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!

PASSAIC, N.J. (Reuters) - Believers are flocking to a rundown street in New Jersey to see a tree stump they say has the form of the Virgin Mary and is a divine sign of hope for the impoverished neighborhood.

"Miracle on Madison Street, that's what I would have called it," said Hector Cruz, who visited the roughly two-foot-high (0.6 meter) stump on Wednesday in Passaic, New Jersey, a largely Hispanic city about 15 miles west of New York.

The piece of wood, whose shape believers say resembles a veiled Virgin Mary with a bowed head, was noticed by passers-by over the weekend on state-owned land alongside a street that residents say is a hangout for illegal drug users.

Since then, a steady stream of visitors have left candles, flowers and handwritten notes and prayers at the site. "It has her form, definitely," said Jackie Cohrs. "It looks like her."

"Where it's located, it's a bad area around here," she said. "It's a sign."

1. For a hilarious take on this phenomenon, read
Carl Hiaasen's novel, "Lucky Me". His others are also great.

7. This is absurd
There's no way the Virgin Mary could appear in a tree stump in New Jersey, because I happen to know she is, right now, appearing in the green mold around an open jar of salsa in my fridge.

9. This is as sick as the crowd drawn
to the old barn down in Texas. Someone swore they saw Jesus on the old painted barn and of course miracles followed. That is until a good hard rain revealed an old Willy Nelson concert poster.

27. Thanks :)
I'm a refugee from the Michael Moore board, which died and never came back. (And I haven't had time to find a new home)

In all honesty, I kinda prefer this being a moderated board - MM's was good but unmoderated and had a lot of racist disruptors.

26. Have I had it????
I LOVE the stuff! There is nothing in the world quite like the feeling of a good Wormwood buzz.

I have to get mine over the internet :(

Funny thing...it's legal to own, it's legal to buy, just illegal to sell in the US.

Went to the "Royal Tit-watching Society" page (www.nice-tits.org) and found THIS shot from one of their "field trips"...
I don't know if this is for real or photoshopped...
