3. Tiger Woods has never come back to win a major on Sunday. |
|
Never. Eight majors won, he's held at least a share of the lead in all eight.
I may sound nuts, but I think the man who leads tonight will be the man who wins tomorrow.
Thomas Bjorn is going to win this thing.
He's playing the back nine better than everyone else, striking it solidly, and he's beaten Tiger head-to-head before. I think he wins it.

He's so happy.
Sorry, Tiger. Guess it didn't help to pair you with VJ, whom you hate the most. Better luck next time!

6. You're right, Tiger does not come from behind very well |
|
He greatly prefers to be in the lead, to play conservatively the last round and make others take the risky shots and catch him. He does that almost perfectly.
Plus, his putter was icy cold today.

5. Ben Curtis! Ben Curtis? |
|
I follow golf very closely and I have never heard of this guy. Amazing. The Cinderella story of the year, for sure. I really hope he can handle it...

7. Wasn't that great to watch? |
|
He's the first person in 90 years to win the first major he ever played in.

Didn't John Daly win his first major?
Anyway, it was a wonderful win for the Ohio guy, Ben Curtis. Love to see the underdog pull it out!!

9. Daly had qualified for a couple US Opens prior to that PGA |
|
He played in 1986 at Shinnecock (missed cut) and 1989 at Oak Hill (T69).
Daly's win in the 1991 PGA is the only thing that comes even close to Curtis in recent memory.

Ben Curtis from nowhere. If you dont follow golf this is a bigger upset than Jets over the Colts, Patriots over the Rams, Miracle Mets over Baltimore. USA over USSR 1980. Bigger.
Simply stunning turn of events today. I picked Sergio to do it, I bet the bookmakers got cleaned out by the Curtis family!
