Someone Told Me I Have A "Politically Correct" Cat |
|
Uh, yeah....
She's a Maine Coon Tortise-Shell that adopted me when her previous owner threw her out in the neighborhood a few Februarys ago. Drop her on a forest floor and she'll disappear and never mind the cat hair.
Why am I congratulated on having a "Native American" Cat when it was her decision in the first place?

1. You need to name your cat Don |
|
She is a beautiful cat and you need to give her a proper name especially since you know that she is a hotsy totsy Maine Coon pure bred Cat.

3. My Mom's middle name was Dean |
|
I don't know what they were thinking when they named her but she hated to tell anyone her middle name.
Don can be short for Donna.
She looks like a Pearl if you ask me.

When I was growing up 100 years ago we had tons of Debbie's in our class.
It's too COMMON for a good looking cat like your kitty.

I think "Debbie" is a fine name or would you rather have me call her "Cat" or Steve Bartman?

7. You could name her after my Great Grandmothers |
|
One was Cora and the other was Rose.
Also, you could name her Mia after Mia Farrow. Then again my cat that died never learned her name and she was Ramona's sister and it wasn't like she had been put out in the streets or anything like that. I ended up calling her Miss Kitty because she came to the name of Kitty.

12. I Call Her Fat, Hairy Cat |
|
"Debbie" has a nice ring to it, but I would prefer limiting the Cat's name in four letters so she can log in on "her" websites.
Golf has been taken along with most of the other four-letter words....

14. Coons Are Terrific Cats! |
|
I'll congratulate you for taking her in. Coons are remarkably healthy and hardy cats but like all cats, prefer a good home with a lap.
I like, no make that love, all kinds of cats, but I have a soft(er) spot for a few breeds, and Coons are one of them. Both of mine were throw-away cats and were two of the most beautiful, charming, loving and intelligent cats I've ever met. Lily was a Bronze mackeral tabby and Pete was a brown mackeral tabby. The only bad thing I can think of about Coons is that primary degenerative encephalomyelopthy is beginning to show up in both purpose-bred and random-bred cats, and it's an untreatable, fatal and heartbreaking disease. It primarily strikes large-breed dogs, and is still rare in cats, but it used to be unheard of in any feline.
I have to admit that I think that their native breediness is kind of cool, since they're such beautiful and smart cats, but the reason I adopted Coons was because they showed up needing homes!
