Passion by Peter Gabriel... |

Excellent soundtrack (to The Last Temptation of Christ).
The choir version of "With This Love" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded.
Any other fans of this album here?

Should have won the Oscar for score, but I don't think it did. I mean, I can't imagine the Academy actually recognizing art!

2. It won either the Grammy or Oscar... |
|
... I can't remember which, though, and I'm too lazy to look it up.
Either way, I pay much more attention to my ears than I do to awards. Otherwise, I'd have been listening to Milli Vanilli.. :puke:

7. I don't think he's ever won a music grammy... |
|
...I think he only won one for video.
As for the Oscars, he could have won--it was the Academy's way of saying f**k you to all the right-wing nuts who protested The Last Temptation of Christ without ever even seeing it.

I also used to love it for the drive up to or down from Idyllwild (in the mountains near Palm Springs)
Haven't been to Idyllwild in about 6 years, though...

One of my favorite pieces by him. I also like the stuff he did with Nusrat Fatah Ali Kahn. Like that song from the Natural Born Killers Soundtrack, Disturbed.

13. Have you heard the song from Up (his newest album)... |
|
... "Signal to Noise"? If not, you must give it a listen. Amazing tune.

14. Into the Labyrinth is a great album... |

... I think Carnival is Over is my fave tune on there... unfortunately I don't get to listen to it nearly as often as I'd like. My g/f doesn't like it 'cuz she thinks his vox sound like Tony Bennett, so it's one I mostly listen to when she's not around.

The soundtrack from Black Hawk Down. Very influenced by Passion I would say (except for the celtic battle songs)

16. Not only is this the best "soundtrack" ever |
|
I think this is perhaps the best album of music ever. I never ever tire of listening to this album. It truly soothes me and speaks to my soul like no other music. I have been listening to this music since the movie came out in 1988 (great movie too BTW!).
I really like the opening track, The Feeling Begins; track 5, Of These, Hope, reprise; but my favorite piece may be track 7, A Different Drum.
A truly inspirational work! And yes, With This Love is beautiful.
