I've got some web design work
...that needs to get done in a few weeks. On what site can I post my project for prospective bidders? I've heard of elance.com and i'm wondering whether there are any other similar sites? Could you please share your experiences.

The project will be for a light traffic database driven site that will use MySQL for the database, and either ColdFusion/PHP/ASP/ (to be decided soon) for the development software.

Thanks :)

5. That's fine with me
I'd take it up with the mods before doing so. How about payment? Feedback?

4. I don't know if it's breaking rules or not either
But I have a side business with some friends of mine where we help people and small businesses with their computer needs. PHP/MySQL is one of the things we do.

11. If it's light database work
And you don't have a place to host it, I've had good luck with powweb. They're under 8 or 9 bucks a month, give you 250 MB of memory, one time set up fee for a databae, and they run the holy trinity of mySQL, PHP, and Apache. We've used them for the sites we've done database work on.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way though. Just like 'em.

14. Hosting is not a problem, ColdFusion vs PHP is
I'm currently trying to convince them to go with PHP over ColdFusion.

9. If there are any more developers and designers
If there are any developers and designers on DU interested in discussing Tiki you can email me at richard@brazilboats.com. And no, I don't work for them (mind you we are talking open source volunteer programming here anyways).

Tiki is a powerful CMS (Content Management System) and Groupware solution. Features: article, forum, newsletter, blog, file/image gallery, Wiki, drawing, tracker, directory, poll/survey and quiz, FAQ, chat, banner, webmail, calendar, category, ACL in single sign-on or LDAP. Written in PHP, using MySQL database backend and Smarty for templating.

Chat me up.
