I think I have swollen glands.
Quick! What's the best way to head off a cold? It's not skipping breakfast and lunch and eating dairy queen cake for dinner, is it?:-(

1. Echinacea, quick!
I drink echinacea tea, sometimes echinacea with vit. c and zinc.

Seems to work, or maybe I just tell myself it works. :silly:

5. Zicam!!!!
This stuff works for me all the time. I may get one cold every year and 3 months. It is zinc in a gel form, and you squirt it in the front pockets of your nose. Kinda gross but it wipes it out usually pretty quick. It costs like 7 bucks at a drug store.

7. Here's Doctor Redstone's prescription:
Take one water glass. Fill it halfway up with anything over 80 proof: vodka, tequila, Maker's Mark, whatever.

Fill to the top with orange juice and stir gently. Drink.

(The orange juice gives you good jolt of vitamin C and folate and all that good stuff, and the booze knocks you out for seven or eight hours, and as we all know, sleep is the best medicine.)

18. It wards off all kind of bad stuff, like scurvy, beriberi, and rickets.
Trust me, take the prescription once a day and you'll never get one of the diseases mentioned above.

Or pellagra or schistosomiasis, either.

10. Yeah, but I do that like every other night.
Screwdrivers and fuzzy navels. mmmm. So, theoretically, I shouldn't even be getting sick IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

8. Double shot of medicinal whiskey, then go to bed.
My 78-yr-old Mom Swears by this, along with Coriciden for early cold symptoms. She is not ordinarily a medicine-taker, either.
