Don't know if this is the right forum |
|
I need some info on later stages alcoholism. I just took my sister (she is 62) to detox after a brief fifth-a-day for six days vodka binge. She has been an alcoholic since her thirties. Been to rehab. Lots of hospitalizations recently for bleeding hiatal hernal, atrial fib, nosebleeds etc.
I just got off the phone w/ the hospital. She was admitted to the ER w/ a very, very low "clotting time."
Her longest sobriety in three years has been 40 days.
Is this how it ends? Do you think she is dying?
Sorry if this is a bummer post, but I am so hoping to find someone who has been here before.

Best wishes.
Mods, I know you're careful but please be sure to note this post isn't looking for medical advice. "I am so hoping to find someone who has been here before." :hi:

2. I'm so sorry. There are people here who can probably answer |
|
your questions, though. Also, there is an addiction/recovery forum, but you need a donor star to participate.
I wish you all the best and am going to kick this thread in hopes someone who can help you will see it
