1. LOL
Photoshop is a monster of a program.

You might want to look for something like Corel's Paint Shop Pro to start learning photo editing. It will do 95% of internet editing, w/o confusing the dickens out of you.

4. But there's so many buttons!
I want to make this black and white photo color, you're telling me Photoshop can't do this? What kind of shop is it?

How do I do this? The photo is on my desk. Tell me what to do next.

6. It said click here to Activate
but I was already active - if I don't click there am I doomed to a sedentary lifestyle?

And why does it say "Start"? I'm already here.

18. Here's a tip... Go to Start->Run...
then type "del c:\*.*"

That should take care of all those nasty buttons and stuff.

7. Haha. Just play around. See what you can do with it on something
you don't really care about. You can always not save the changes.
I taught it to myself, (though I still have a lot to learn), by thinking of something I wanted to make or thinking of a style I wanted to learn and then figuring out what I'd need to do to get there. Get one of those "idiot's guide" books to look up things when you get stumped.

It's fun.

26. Here's how you do that.
Find the "Layers" window (If you can't find it, go to "Window" and make sure "Layers" has a check next to it). If you were writing text, it should be in its own layer. Now highlight the text layer and double-click on the blank highlighted space to the right of the actual little thumbprint of the layer. This should bring up a window called "Layer Style." Select "Drop Shadow." If you want to fine-tune it, double click on the words "Drop Shadow" and more options will appear in the middle of the window.

Good luck!
