She found out today that he car is not repairable. It would cost almost $10,000 just to clean up and fix the interior--totally swamped with mud. Her car is a 2000 with over 100,000 miles, so it's certainly is not worth repairing, but worth a lot more to her than I'm sure she'll get from insurance. Poor girl was quite upset and frightened by the whole incident--it's a little scary when your car starts floating! Who would have thought she'd have flood damage in Minneapolis....

Flash floods are always a possibility here in Minnesota. But they are usually not THAT bad.
I hope she has decent insurance to cover most of a newer car.
