When your change is one penny, do you wait???
So you go to a store and your bill is $0.99 and you give the cashier $1.00, or $4.99 and you give him or her $5.00, or $2.24 and you pay with $2.25 -- you get my point. Does anyone else feel awkward during the few seconds when the cashier is fumbling away to get you your penny? Do you wait for it??

One one hand, I feel bad waiting because I worry that it makes me look cheap -- like I am out to get every cent (literally) that's mine. It's worse when they are really slow, or they have to crack open a whole new roll of pennies.

One the other hand, I feel bad walking away because it makes me feel like some arrogant jerk who is so cavalier about money that they don't have the time to wait for their change. It also makes me feel like I'm intending it to be a tip -- and a horrible one at that.

Am I the only one who thinks of these things?? I miss Seinfeld.

2. It's just like waiting for a receipt with me.....

I don't usually need a receipt but I figure I will be patient while the clerk does what they are supposed to do.

5. Your question made me laugh. out loud.
Whenever that happens to me, I like to magnanimously say, "Oh, just KEEP the change!" ...which they always do. And then the clerk and I have a good chuckle.

PS. I miss Seinfeld, too.
