Poll question: Running poll. What's the fastest 5K you've ever run? |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-17-05 09:59 AM by Crazy Guggenheim
BTW, a 5K = 3.1 Mi.
Also, have you ever placed in your division or won a race?
I came in Third in my Division one time!!

I'm slower than cold molasses running uphill in January. (You can read more about my running style at this website: www.waddleon.com)
I thought a 5K was 3.1 miles....?

In my first and last 5k, I had barely run a quarter mile when I sprained my ankle. The injury cart took me along the race's route to the finish line, where the first aid tent was. :eyes:

Hope I didn't mess up your poll by voting "under 15" -- I thought it was funny...

8. I don't run for time man I run for the feeling man |
|
for the energy man
I ran one and it was a 27 minute or something ridiculous time. I ran a 10K and had about the same experience so I'm off races. I might try to do a marathon next year (just quit smoking) just to do it.

John Bingham, "The Penguin" says he'd rather run a marathon in 5 hours instead of 4, because that means he's out running for an hour longer. He runs for the love of the run.

12. I don't think I broke 17 minutes, but I may have. |
|
I ran in High School, but was primarily a football/baseball player. Now, I ran 800s normally and did 5ks as training. I ran 1:53.98 or something like that, missing the school record by seconds in the 800 which is an extended sprint.

16. I wasn't fast enough for the 400, but didn't have the endurance for a 1600 |
|
I did that my sophomore year of HS. A muscle injury and shoulder injury later. My coach said baseball and track were my sports. I hated track after I popped that muscle in my thigh, because I was scared and I felt that it lowered my knee stability.

21. I used to run a 5k every morning |
|
at about 6 a.m., often, still hammered from the night before, and on three or four hours of sleep.
Mania is fun stuff, I tell ya. I didn't run fast, though -- it usually took about 40 minutes.

26. Third category from the bottom |
|
I am female. I set a new high school record at my school and held it for 4 years or so until an athlete broke it has a DI scholarship and a chance at making Nationals. As far as roads races go, I won two road races in the female division. I placed high in a couple others (top 3 for women) and won my age divsion in another. I sort of got burned out in college. I'd like to run again, but I have to get healthy first.
