Poll question: Guacamole. |
|
I, for one, cannot think of a more divisive issue out there today. America's love/hate relationship with guacamole spans all classes, political affiliations and ethnic origins. I refrained from posting about it before for fear of a major flame war, bur here goes. Where do you stand when it comes to guacamole?

What with the anaphalaxis and the risk of death and all I'm not exactly tempted. It makes it a real pain in the ass to get a veggie sandwich, though.

People probably look at you funny when you say..."Hold the avocado."
Thank you for increasing my awareness of how food allergies can really fuck with our lives....

22. I like mine simple... |

... avacodo (degree of ripeness critical!), diced onion, bit of lemon juice, salt, black pepper, dash of onion powder.
Squish it all together but leave a few little chunks!
I had some yesterday :)

25. This is a very simple issue |
|
People who don't like guac generally haven't had it fresh-made. That crap you usually get at the Mexican restaurant doesn't count. And don't even think about buying some from the store. It has to be fresh. Just get some fresh avocados, garlic cloves and lime. Chop the garlic and add to the avocado with lime and salt. Mmmmmmmm. And avocados are good for you. I cannot resist good wokka-moe-lay.

27. Apparently, not so divisive |
|
It seems LeftyMom (bless her heart!) is about the only one here (so far) who can't stand guacamole. And lets face it, for her, it's more than a matter of taste.
Me, I love the stuff. Especially when the avocados are ripe and it's freshly made. I didn't know what it was until I tasted it when I was in college decades ago. I could cry over those wasted years....
