1. Since I'm usually in NYC...
...none of the above ;)

But, if I'm back with my 'rents in Oregon, it's Papa John's.

2. Noooooo Papa John's!
They're major GOP donors, aren't they? I really like their cheesy breadstick-y thingies but have been boycotting them...

3. Pretty much all the big chains are
Domino's has several connections to Operation Life, IIRC.

Pretty much the only way you're in the clear is if you buy local, which I do in 99% of the cases when I'm in NYC or Boston; but back in Oregon, really, the pizza is a bit suckage.

9. I loved Izzy's...
...when I lived in Eugene. That was some good-ass crust.

I like Domino's the best of those listed above, but I won't buy from them anymore.

16. What I hate about Papa John's
is you have to specify Italian sausage. If you order "sausage," they give you this Jimmy Dean crap.

Found that out the hard way. That f-ing pizza broke the sound barrier flying across the room.

I actually prefer (if I'm not in town to get Pagliacci) Papa Murphy's, where you pick up an uncooked pizza to bake in your own oven. Not bad at all.

13. Depends on where you live.
Back in Massachusetts, family owned was the place to go. Here in DC though, family owned pizza usually tastes like sewage.

5. Papa John's should be ashamed to call their food "pizza"...
I have had it twice and it sucked both times!

We have a local place that makes some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. (If you live in Los Angeles -- Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock).

If I had to choose one from the poll, I think I would go with Pizza Slut.

12. Little Caesars my fav....but i used to work there
Little Caesars is really good if you know someone who works there that will make it right. Get em to put the garlic butter on the crust too.

Papa John's sauce is too sweet and their crust is too thick.
Domino's tastes like burnt cardboard. (except I like their thin crust)
Pizza Hut is ok but its really expensive.

We got a local chain here in Austin called Austins Pizza (surprise). It's my favorite but no one has probably heard of it. Mangia Pizza here in Austin is good too.

18. Locally owned pizzerias - no big chains
Up here in da Nort'land Davanni's makes a good pie (especially the white pizza), Broadway Pizza is dependably good, and Cossetta's makes fab NY style. :9

If I have to eat a big chain 'za I will for the Hut - theirs is the most pizza-like.

More toppings, better crust, lower price. As long as you have a decent oven, they can't be beat :)

28. Another vote for Papa Murphy's!
Multiple crust options, and the ingredients are all high-quality. The location in my little town of 25,000 seems to be doing very well anytime I'm in there...

However, 95% of the time I order a pizza it's from any of the small mom and pop operations in my area.
