Geoff Blum, the Chicago White Sox infielder, hit two-out solo home runs in the 14th inning taking his team to victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday, beating them 7-5 in the longest game in World Series history.

Blum's 354-foot towering shot off Ezequiel Astacio, the Astros reliever, sailed over the right-field fence to put the White Sox on the verge of winning their first World Series title in 88 years.

"I can't put it in words," Blum said. "It is the stuff dreams are made of. I've had about 100 of these at-bats in my backyard with my younger brother.
"But to do it on this stage and in this situation makes this year incredibly worthwhile."
