Culpepper will miss remainder of Vikings’ season
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 05:28 PM by Fox Mulder

Daunte Culpepper’s season is officially over, and when he will return remains uncertain.

Vikings coach Mike Tice said Monday at his afternoon news conference that the veteran quarterback has damage to a number of different areas in his right knee, including the anterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament. Culpepper underwent a magnetic resonance imaging test Monday morning, and the tests revealed that the three ligaments were all torn to some degree.

Tice said, “Not only has the road not been friendly to us this year or the last number of years, but we lost our quarterback for the season yesterday. He had significant injury to his knee, to a number of different areas.

“We’ll have to wait a couple of weeks for the swelling to go down and get prepared for surgery in the next few weeks,” Tice said. “It’s discouraging to us based on everything that has transpired to this point in the season. This is just another hurdle we have to overcome as a football team.

6. I would be if I were him.
But I'm relieved because he isn't playing for the rest of the year. Maybe we'll get somewhere now.

Who knows.

4. Whoa
Not as bad as Willis McGahee a couple of years ago, but not far off, either. It will take a minimum of a year and a half to come back from a knee injury that extensive. That was a nasty looking (but seemingly clean) hit.

There's gotta be some karma at work in this, but maybe the Vikes will wind up winning the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

10. Me too, but out of our division rivals
I would rather see Detroit advance.

17. Let me check my magic 8-ball......."Outlook is not good"
Unless Jesus Christ himself starts coaching the defense and calling the plays, this year is finished.

But of course, I'll sit through every single shitstorm they are involved in because it's in my blood. I can't escape it.

As long as they show up for the game in Green Bay, I'll be happy. A clean sweep of the Pack would make this season worth watching.

14. That's gonna be one tough injury to come back from.
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 05:50 PM by WeRQ4U
Didn't Rodney Harrison do that this year too?

And I have tickets to the game on Sunday. My luck. I get to watch fuckin' Jeff Garcia and Brad Johnson battle it out. Oh boy, that sure sounds like a party to me. What a shitstorm this year has become.

Thank God the Timberwolves start in few days.

16. And you have to drive all the way here to see it...

I hope your stay in the Cities this weekend is good, regardless of the Viking game.

18. I'm sure it will be.
My wife grew up there and her Dad, Mom and Stepdad all live there. So do our son's Godparents. We'll have fun despite the Vikings.

I bite my thumb at them.
