***I'm Bored as Hell and Feeling Romantic, For Some Screwball Reason...*** |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 10:00 PM by WritingIsMyReligion
Tell me a sweet little story about you and a lover--how you met, a wedding day, a first date, a first kiss....SOMETHING. ANYTHING!!! Please. I'm so bored, so NOT ready for bed, and so lonely-ish feeling....I need vicarious romance! :D
But NO sex scenes...Keep it PG--well, PG-13, anyway. I don't wanna get this locked.
:P
I'm waiting.....

And if I did, I'd be too lazy to go get it now, anyway.
I crave something ridiculously sweet! Ahhhhh! Goddamned teenage-hood!

He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven
HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams
Sappy enough for you? ;)

This better?
Lady,i will touch you with my mind. Touch you and touch and touch until you give me suddenly a smile, shyly obscene
(lady i will touch you with my mind.)Touch you, that is all,
lightly and you utterly will become with infinite care
the poem which i do not write.

I met my "ex" at a coffee shop and I knew I wanted him in my life. We were gonna go back to his place for some nasty sex but he had some stuff to do first. I went with him.
"I'm sorry for dragging you around." "I't's OK. I don't mind being dragged around all over town if it's by you."
We were together for 5 years. We broke up but it doesn't matter, because we'll always be together. I talk to him every day. Just tonight he said "I guess I'm stuck with you." "Yep, I guess so.... Ain't it great!" Then he went into a rant about my smoking: "If you die of lung cancer, what am I gonna do? I don't want to live without you!"
When we lived in SF we talked about filing for Domestic Partnership. Then I moved to TX and he moved to Boston. Since gay marriage is legal there we've talked about that possibility. In fact, last time we were together it was in Provincetown and I said "This is your chance. I'll marry you. Right now!"
But we don't need to get married - somehow we just ended up with a lifelong commitment. A marriage license would not make it more real and nothing can alter it. And that's the way it is.
Romantic? Maybe. I think so.
Khash.

Here's a quote I found when I was probably your age. I still think it's true.
"True love is night jasmine, a diamond in darkness, the heartbeat no cardiologist has ever heard. It is the most common of miracles, fashioned of fleecy clouds - a handful of stars tossed into the night sky." — Jim Bishop
Something romantic. Hmmm.
We've been married almost 13 years now. When my husband and I were about to celebrate our first anniversary, we didn't have a lot of money. There wouldn't be much of a celebration. I should also explain that my husband hates to dance, and I love it. (This seems to be a trend -- dancers marry non-dancers, etcetera.) My husband also knows that I loved Tony Bennett's music before it was cool to listen to him.
For our first anniversary, he bought "Tony Bennett: Unplugged" for me, and we danced to "I Left My Heart In San Francisco." It's one of the sweetest memories I have.

Ah, damn. Now I feel extra lonely. x( Oh well. I love hearing others' romantic stories, since, judging by the (lack of) maturity in teenage boys, I'll be waiting a damned long time for any first-hand experience.

You will find him. It might take a little while. Sometimes they need a little encouragement. (Sometimes they still haven't figured it out, and they're 30+.)
I'm also betting that they are verrry intelligent and most likely a little dorky or geeky.

My husband and I did a lot of stuff for our own wedding, including the cake and flowers, and a lot of the food. We were both also working full time. We went to San Francisco the day after the wedding for our honeymoon. We were so exhausted from all the wedding prep that we just fell on the bed and went to sleep. We woke up a few hours later, went out for something to eat, and went back to the room and slept all night.
The next day, we finally felt rested, and went to Ghirardelli Square. For those who have not been there, there is a courtyard surrounded on three sides by buildings. The fourth side faces the water. It was a beautiful morning, and we bought lattes at an outdoor espresso stand. We sat down, and it suddenly hit me that for the first time in months, there was nothing we had to do, and nowhere we had to be. For both of us, it was an incredibly beautiful and peaceful moment.
For our 10th anniversary several years ago, we went back to San Francisco. We went to Ghirardelli Square again, sat at the same table with lattes, and my husband gave me a gift: my wedding set with a new diamond in the engagement ring. The original diamond had fallen out several years before, and so I couldn't wear the rings. He had the diamond replaced, and gave me an anniversary ring too.
It was such a sweet thing that he did.

Darlin' I fall in love so often....
I am love struck and whoosey....
I see Ms. right about twenty times a day....
And yet, I have several people who love me...
And I love them....
Mostly....
It's in my mind....
The best sex organ anyone can have....
And then, I fall asleep... Wake up... And do it all over again....

The only section of the recent "Sexiest Man Alive" issue of People magazine I was interested in were the smart guys... ;-) I'm happy to let everyone else have at Matthew McConaghey, Brad Pitt and Colin Farrell. Cute, smart, and funny? I'm so all over that.

37. Romantic story? I've got tons. |
|
I'll always remember the first day I met my fiancee. We met on the internet (here, actually), and we'd been talking on the phone for weeks. We had agreed to meet in Montclair, NJ, which was sort of a halfway point between my home and hers. I had a rose for her, and I made up a cheese and fruit tray and tried to stuff it into a cooler that was much too small for the tray. I arrived an hour and a half early at our rendezvous point, a garden spot in Montclair.
And I waited. And waited. The rose died in the heat. The cheese fell off the tray into the cooler. I got a little neurotic. I must have brushed my hair about 50 times while I was waiting, and I must have gargled about half a bottle of mouthwash.
She had been caught in a traffic jam coming over the George Washington Bridge. It was nearly three hours after I arrived that she pulled up in her minivan. I'll never forget the huge smile on her face as she waved to me like we were old friends, and my neurosis vanished. When she stepped out of the van, I saw her in person for the first time, and my heart melted. I knew at that moment that I was in love, and that she was the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
We haven't looked back since that day. Nothing has changed except for my love for her, which has grown daily since then.

40. On my first date with him.... |
|
I was bit bitter, but he was a very sweet man and I was curious to see where it would lead. We had been friends of a sort for some time. He opened up to me in a way long before we even began to think of a relationship that made me know we were kindred spirits. I was coming out of a painful divorce and my other experiences in the relationship realm in the interim left me a bit raw. This man was so good to me, so kind, so passionate, so loving, so honest, so open that there was this one moment where he looked at me with such purity in his eyes, that I KNEW, I fucking knew a truth that I had never felt before.
Then, on the way home, I listened to the CD he made for me. Tears poured out of my eyes- a release, a catharsis like somewhere in my mind and heart I knew that every ounce of pain I had went through was for a purpose and that purpose was him. Well, it was us.
We've been together almost a year now and I'm going to be his wife by this time next year. He is my Karma, my love, my future. :loveya:
