The DePaul Democrats are bringing him to speak. What should I ask? Gotta make an impression...a good one! :hi:

2. He's Dick Durbin, ask him anything! |
|
No lie--he's a really nice man. You can probably ask him just about any normal question and he'll talk to you. I have seen that man work a room, and to be honest, I have never seen anybody do it better.
Now, if you really want to get him to talk to you, I'd suggest you tell him that you have heard that he had an excellent relationship with Paul Wellstone, and ask him about Wellstone's influence on him politically.
Durbin was here in Champaign County for an appearance during the immediate aftermath of Wellstone's death. the campaign event was changed to a memorial for Wellstone, and it was one of the most honest, sincere political outings I have ever been a part of.
Durbin spoke at length about Wellstone and about his impact on the Senate and on him personally. If there was any positive to be found in Paul Wellstone's death, I think it was that it focused Durbin even more on progressive, compassionate, politics.
Durbin really is an amazing guy, and I do wish more people could meet him. I'm glad to see you excited about it.

(For a minute, I thought your post title was an "ask me anything" thread. :D)

4. I thought about it when I wrote it. |

But meeting Durbin is just too cool not to take seriously.
You will do fine and I am betting that you will enjoy your outing with Durbin a lot. He's good people.
