Spay and neuter your dogs! |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-30-03 05:36 PM by Trad Bass
My brother is having to give us his dog "Sandy" who was abandoned at a truck stop along with her siblings.
He is moving to another city where his landlord won't allow pets.
My brother's neighbor rescued them and he took Sandy in.
You can stop dogs from having sex and babies- fix them!
Rant off

3. I'm on my fourth lab mix . . . |
|
and he's the first one I've had neutered . . . I was always afraid that it would alter their personalities, but my fears were unfounded . . . he's still the silliest, happiest, friendliest, sweetest dog I know . . . :)

6. Hmmm, 6.25 billion humans and somehow a dog is the greater problem? |
|
Not that I'm being cynical, but if we spayed or neutered humans, the Human Rights groups would be up in arms and rioting...
Jeez, 6.25 billion humans and yet 2/3rds of them are living a nightmarish existence. The problem's been around for decades, but apart from importing food - what is exactly being done to improve and raise their standard for their quality of life? Yet alone the lives of Americans who, in America of all countries, shouldn't even have this sort of problem at all!!!

9. And if you love your cat |
|
Never ever let it outside.
I just saw another dead cat along the road with a bright pink collar. Parasites, diseases, cat fights, coyotes, cars and unwanted litters aren't good for cats or you. If you love your cat hold it close and never let it go... outside!

I always equate my pets with a toddler.. They understand words, give hugs & kisses, make a mess when they eat, play hard til they drop..
Would you turn a 3 yr old "out for the night"..or let him/her out to play around traffic??
Most animals seem to stay about that toddler stage , and their judgement in not that great.. They have instinctive natures, but their reasoning is crap..
Keep them indoors if you reallllly love them.. Buy them a fuzzy catnip mouse and let them "hunt" for it inside..
We watched 6 of the "outdoorsies" that we were never able to catch, but fed, because we are softies, die from some mysterious ailment(poison?)..all within a few weeks.. Three of them felt a human hand (mine) for the first time, when I scooped them up and took them to the vet to be euthanized.. It broke my heart to know that the first time the were petted was as they died..
They live short and sickly lives when they have to fend for themselves..
Even though we provided shelter, food, and fresh water, we could not protect them..
Spay, neuter,trap..help the furries :)
