My cynicism level peaked today - I believe "no testing on animals" is a bunch of crap |
|
So a few products you can buy for the shower don't say anything about animal testing, so I assume they are guilty. Now I don't check the labels all the time, but I try. But I noticed this morning that either the labels have changed on me, or that I have simply been kidding myself. Here was my how I read the labels today.
"We don't test on animals." = outsourced testing "Final product not tested on animals." = everything else is
Of course a company can't begin packaging a product that might cause severe irritation or temporary blindness or even something unknown. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am no longer a believer! Someone save me from my own cynicism!

2. I have to wonder about "dolphin-safe" tuna too |

I read somewhere that that is kind of a scam as well.

6. The ones who "don't test" |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-16-07 11:38 PM by dropkickpa
don't have to, because all of the ingredients were previously tested by others, I've always known this one was just a marketing gimmick.
*edited for atrocious spelling

7. Some companies use it as a marketing label... |
|
others take it quite seriously and consider it a point of pride. The small companies that don't have a laundry list of chemicals in their products would be a best bet as to who was actually able to make this claim.

8. I Buy "Cruelty Free" And Hope It Really Is |

True, I tend to get stuff from the crunchy-granola hippy store, and I make an effort to get "No animal testing" and "cruelty free" products.
