Fuck that...I'm skipping school |
|
UMASS Beantown didn't cancel, but it's nasty snow/ice/sleet out there. And I'm still sick as a dog, and not really wanting to trudge around in icy sludge all day in my sneakers. So, I'm staying home and doing homework instead. I emailed my profs though, 'cause I'm a good doobie. :)

Tomorrow is looking to be another snow day. And if it's not a snow day, it might turn into a SICK day...if you catch my drift.

|
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 07:57 AM by jonnyblitz
but they didn't pick me.
once they don't pick you here for the first jury you are free to go and that is it for the rest of that calender year! they don't keep you around for anything else. that's how it is in CT. It might be different for federal court.

|
the last time I was in Boston using public transit ( in OCT or NOV) SOME stations had gotten rid of the token machines and were using the tickets like every other city with a subway system.

that paper tickets that go in the machine and pop out of the top, but as of Jan 1, if you use the paper tickets, it's a $2.00 fare, but if you use the plastic cards that you just tap on the reader, it's $1.70. As far as I know, that vast majority of the stattions are updated now. And the buses too. The upside being that my monthly pass went down $6 :)

28. i cut today, too... roads were hell. |
|
As i was getting our son ready for school, it started snowing like the 8th plane of hell. Because of this, I decided to drive him to school, instead of putting him on the bus.
I got 1/2 mile from here, slipped and slid a bit on the hills, and then had to come to a dead stop. It seems that there was a school bus that had slid off the road into a ditch, and traffic was stopped in both directions while they got a tow-truck to pull it out.
I turned around in someone's driveway, and brought him back home. Called his school to tell them WHY he wouldn't be there, and then e-mailed my profs to tell them why I'd be out.
His school is already on a 2-hr delay in the morning (which might end up being a cancellation), which means i am going to have to reschedule one of the two mid-terms that i have tomorrow. I can't simultaneously be at the bus stop and in class at 10am.
