my father, who is a bigot and a republican lives in a neighborhood that somehow has quite a few lesbians, or lesbian couples. He is also VERY social, (Imagine that old man that you can't get to shut up when your on your way somewhere, but you kind of like him so you don't want to hurt his feelings...) so over the years he's become decent friends "with those lesbians across the street" It was cool when he started to refer to them by their first names. They've kindly put up with him, and allowed him in thier lives to the point of actually baking him pies and stuff. They borrow his truck or tools. Just friendly neighbors. A long strange trip indeed.
