Best guess: more sleep and more excercise to oxygenate the brain.
Also, as a fan of House, I must assume it is Lupus.

How old are you, if you don't mind?
I have difficulty remembering stuff these days too. Sometimes after a while, fifteen minutes or longer, it comes back to me.

do you have a link to a study? Because that could be a way to do an end run around the problem of memory (since I'm pretty sure sleep is shown to help memory)

21. I tried melatonin to help me sleep. It knocks me out, then I'm awake |

five hours later and can't go back to sleep.
My doc has me on 1 mg Lunesta to try to regulate my sleep pattern. I'm sure that will improve my memory - now that you mention it. Hadn't htought of it before. :hi:

I'm sorry, it sucks ass, but there's no proven cure for bad memory. There are a lot of mystical, faux herbal remedies, but there is nothing that has been shown to do anything. Believe me, I have the same problem
edit: you might try practicing remembering. Memorize stuff, poetry, music, etc. The brain thrives on practice. It might help

I was having HUGE memory issues -
turned out - not only was I "going through menopause"
and
"Depressed"
I was walking around with about a 40% oxygen rate and didn't know it. I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain. An inhaler helped tremendously.

26. be sure the doctor tests for b12 deficiency, pernicious anemia |
|
i'm thinking you're around my age or thereabouts so if this advice is too "old" for you, sorry, it can well be i've got you mixed up w. someone else
anyways...even if you are not a vegetarian, you can get a b12 deficiency in middle age or older because some people lose the ability to use the b12 they get from their food
a friend's dad (not a vegetarian or vegan) had it and while he could not regain the memory and intelligence level he had before developing the disease, he was able to stop the progression, unfortunately he waited quite a while before he understood how bad the problem was and got tested, and you don't get back what you have lost, so he did lose quite a bit of brain function before he started getting the injections
so it's really worth testing for since once discovered it can so easily be kept in check -- i would urge anyone w. memory loss to ask about pernicious anemia!
i had your same experience w. melatonin, except i couldn't even stay down five hours, ugh, that is just not enough sleep for me to function well, i guess it's okay for the short period sleepers who really only need 4 or 5 hours a night but i'm not martha stewart last time i looked! :-)
let us know if the lunesta helps, i think it will if you can get enough hours sleep each night

Sorry. But he is. He's nothing but a snake oil salesman.
That's not to say EVERYTHING he says is wrong (even a broken watch is right 2x a day!), but please, double - no - triple check anything he says. Check your sources and their credentials.
edit typo.....

with everything he says. But my experience has taught me that mainstream medicine has quite a few quacks. They push pharmaceuticals beyond reason, spout the party line out of fear of repurcussions if they don't and will make "politically convenient diagnoses" even when the patient's life is in danger. Sorry - have seen it first hand.
I have seen many people labeled quacks only to see their protocols adopted later on.
