Okay ... I'm gonna say it . . . |

Happy New Year. Thank you (you know who you are) who have helped me through a most difficult year. It is hard to turn a page over to 2008 without having my husband being a part of the New Year as well. It is so surreal and I am very sad to do so. It has been easier to say he passed away 2 months ago than he passed away *last year*. For those of you who have not traveled this path - you will understand when (god forbid) it happens to you. At any rate, all of you who have responded to me and my angst - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. It is true that you know who your true friends are when you are in crisis.
I sincerely wish every one of you a blessed New Year and much happiness in 2008!
The family of Mr.BW925.

6. I cannot know, because I haven't experienced what you have. But I can imagine, |

and imagining that if I were in your place, I can only believe I'd feel the same as you do.
Time heals. Not ever perfectly, no, but for the most we can ask for.
Let the year turn. Let life go on, as it does whether we ask it to or not.
Be well, for those who yet need you, in honor of those who have gone before.

more than I should. Former lover/mentor and former husband both died in the last two years. This has brought very black thoughts to me about the brevity of all of this life.
"Current" husband is healthy as a horse (he'll be 74 in June) -- and he was just amazing and effervescent on our recent vacation, thank goodness, but we all know in the back of our minds that it isn't "forever" and "always". Those statements are false.
My aunt in California has been widowed for several years. Her husband died in November' they were together more than 40 years. I called her on Christmas from Sanibel Island, Florida, and I know tonight will be difficult for her, too. But she is out with friends and trying not to cry too much. Also, we have decided to invite her to Hawaii in March. I hope she is not to frail to come.
Peace and solace to you in 2008. May each tomorrow be better, but life is truly and always bittersweet.
All the best from Radio Lady and Audio Al (15 minutes of 2007 left here in Portland, OR)

7. I can understand where you are coming from Bullwinkle |
|
My mother passed away in May last year and part of me was reluctant to leave the past year behind because it would be the last year in which I could say that I was able to spend time with my mother, to hug and kiss her, to talk to her and to feel her physical presence.
I'm so, so sorry for your loss Bullwinkle:hug: I hope the new year brings some healing, comfort and peace

This will be the first year (for what feels like my entire life) that Larry will not be a physical part of. It is so very difficult to go on. I know he is with me in spirit every day - but, still, it is difficult to turn that calendar page.
