Okay, It's Late... This Is Freaking Me Out...
Apparently I saw the movie "Underdog" with my son... I don't remember seeing it.

I can remember talking about parts of it with a friend when she reminded me of that.

However, I can't remember seeing the movie.

I thought my son was mixed up... but his mother confirmed that I had indeed taken him to that movie.

I don't drink alcohol so that isn't it.

So yeah, it is freaking me out. I work with people who don't remember things. I don't remember lots of little things, pieces of information, or where I left something sometimes.

But to forget going to a movie fairly recently...

7. If you see it again it'll probably come back to you
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 01:17 AM by LeftyMom
I've bought a book twice because I didn't remember that I'd already bought and read it- it was dullsville enough that I was halfway through before I remembered that I'd read it already and given my copy away because it sucked.

Our brains misfile stuff all the time, and if we don't bother thinking about it again (as with blah books and movies) we don't create alternate paths to get to that information.

Anyhow, that's my theory. Unless it happens all the time I wouldn't freak out about it.

12. How long ago was this?
If it more than a year ago then I'd say forget it. If not, then it's stress and meds and nothing more or less.

21. Possibly my friend.
We have many shared qualities. Thing is, we are both in circumstances where personal strength, and not fate, is what we must rely on. I'm totally failing. You?

23. gawd, don't ask me that tonight
i feel like personal strength has failed today, although in reality that isn't true.

after all, i put together the Wii that I got today :P

didn't think i could :eyes: don't know why i didn't think i could

and I functioned well as a human otherwise during the day...

yet i still feel failed in many ways...

It's OK to forget some things...and jst because it's something you did with your son, you have had a lot of major changes happening that just made Underdog not priority for remembering at the moment.

Meanwhile...view the movie trailer...and maybe you will remember :hi:

24. I've read the entire thread. If this kind of thing doesn't happen again, I wouldn't worry about it
If it does, get yourself checked out. There a number of benign factors that can screw with the memory.

28. I've been doing that a lot recently
I think it's a combination of forgettable movies and mental distraction. I'm juggling too much in my brain these days with the net effect of absorbing nothing.

It happens a lot with my Netflix DVDs, too. I'll put one in and get nearly all the way through it and then realize I've already watched it. :wtf:
