1. They need to cast someone as Dianne Feinstein. |
|
Supposedly she told the shooter to go to George Moscone's office and talk to him about getting his job back.

she will be characterized, will it come through that she was an ally of White's on the board?

So who knows. I'm sure it will be a big flamewar.
As far as movie poster artwork is concerned, I'd love to see a big, yellow Twinkie on the poster.

4. This movie is finally being made. |
|
This has been knocked around Hollywood for years. At one time, Oliver Stone was going to direct...and they talked about Robin Williams as Milk.
Good for Van Sant and good for Sean Penn. I'll be looking forward to seeing it.

14. Can't see Sean Penn as Harvey Milk. |
|
I read The Mayor of Castro Street -- I just can't see it.
I wanna see who's cast as Dan White! Cameo by Twinkie the Kid!
If Sean Penn plays Milk, he's gonna have to act his ass off to sell me on it. I just can't see it.

But it would be his second. His first was for "Mystic River." Most tragic ending since "Sophie's Choice."

15. Harvey Milk is truly one of my heroes. |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-22-08 10:13 PM by Lex
"The Times of Harvey Milk" is one of the greatest documentaries ever made, imho.
When I visited San Francisco, I made a point of visiting where his camera shop used to be. It was powerful to me.
Been waiting and waiting for a movie to be made eventually and it sounds like it's in good hands. I hope I'm not over-expecting.
Thanks for the thread on this. :hi:

22. I see Emile Hirsch is in the film too. |
|
A couple months ago I saw Sean Penn's directing of Emile Hirsch in "Into the Wild" which was based on the true story and book about Chris McCandless. It was truly a great film.
Nice to see Hirsch will be involved in this movie too. He's an intense actor.

Actually, I do think that his "To Die For" is a very good movie. How he did that, I'll never know... I guess that means there is the possibility that Joel Schumacher may actually fuck up one day and make a good movie
