Anyone else addicted to Google Earth? |
|
It's becoming an obsession with me.
I can't even plan a trip to a store without flying over it first.
I even think about asking the neighbors -"what the Hell IS that thing in your back yard?"
My wife has tried to intervene.
I think I may need a support group.

1. Back when I had high speed net access i loved it. |
|
I particularly found looking at the craters in Nevada from all the nuclear tests that were done there during the Cold War.

3. I don't have high speed |
|
I wait... and wait... and wait for my maps to come in. I don't mind.
Sometimes, I'll leave a flyover running all night just to load all the images.
I need help.

4. I absolutely love it also |
|
It's so fun just to see places you've always wanted to visit but no you never will. It's also fun to look into your neighbors backyard, or see how your home town has changed, etc.
Overall, it is really fun to use and just explore around your town and state.

type in your address and zoom into your house/neighborhood. I didn't mean it like you could virtually go in and see like a live feed of everything happening in tour house. But it would be cool. It would add a whole new meaning to the word "stalker."

7. I was looking for the point in England where the trains go underground for the Chunnel |
|
but could not find it. It must be quite a way back in order to drop enough altitude before the water starts

12. I'm frustrated with it |

Suddenly I have grid lines everywhere and I have no idea how to remove them. That kills the whole experience.

16. It's fun to combine GE with Wikipedia |
|
Most locations have coordinates at the top. Clicking on the coordinates takes you to a page with links to mapping software. Clicking on "Google Earth: locate" brings up GE and takes you to the location.
