Does having a DRE hurt? I have to go and have one this coming week, and I have a serious medical phobia. x(
I've been in some pain, and my doctor thinks I have a chronic condition, so he's sending me to a specialist. I guess the DRE is the first line in checking for/confirming the problem.

It doesn't hurt at all. Hope all goes well for you with tracking down the source of your problems.

Even if they can't fix it, I would take some peace of mind from knowing exactly what the problem is. I've had exams, ultrasounds, etc and nothing.
