Alright, then what's your FAVORITE piece of classic fiction? |
|
Since we've done the "unreadable" classics, what are your favorites and why? For me its a couple: "Huckleberry Finn" because not only is it entertaining, but it was waaay ahead of its time on civil rights. Also William Goldings "Lord of the Flies" just a very deep and thought provoking novel on the basic nature of humankind....

WOn the Nobel Prize for literature in 1934 the year after John Galsworthy died. I think I've read all 6 books at least 3 times.

I guess it kinda depends of the definition of "classic".
Yeah, Huck Finn is awesome, but it's not in my top.
Would you consider the following classics? And abridged list of some of my favorite books, in no particular order except Vonnegut is at the top as it should be:
Just about anything by Vonnegut Confederacy of Dunces Catch 22 Island (Huxley) Siddhartha One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
