It could go in the GD: primaries forum, except who wants to go there these days, but I feel the need to post it somewhere.

I just figured out that the David Axelrod who figures large in Obama's campaign is someone whom I knew when we were undergraduates together some 36-32 years ago.

I can't say we were close friends, but we were acquaintances. We were in at least two classes together. We occasionally spoke together outside of the classes. If I remember correctly we may have had coffee while discussing the assignments once. We certainly were not enemies. I could stretch and say we were friends, and I certainly can't say anything bad about him.

Because the guy is all that. Seriously. He's got the full skillset, unlike Trippi , who impresses me as more of an idiot savant.

Like I said, I have nothing bad to say about him. He was clearly one of the smartest guys in the two classes, and at the U. of Chicago that was saying something.
